We booked the Food tour at de Pijp — quite last minute, so we were lucky enough there was some space for us left. One star for that! The group size was not too big, which made it easier to hear the guide. Sometimes things got loud at the market, which definitely is busier in the afternoon. At some points it was not possible to hear the guide, which was a shame of course. One thing I mentioned to our guide, and that I really missed on the tour: just a sip of water. Especially starting with the sweetest thing, the sugar rush.. the reason why I did not give all 5 starts, partially. Having worked in tourism in France for years this is something that is so easy to be fixed. I would rate the tour as “good”, questions that were asked by people in the group often had to be verified, whereas they were things you would expect your guide to know. I really hope the guide will incorporate that feedback for future tours ( e.g. which beer is which? Which cheese is which?) in order to prevent people from being disappointed at the end of their tour. Just to add that extra touch. Food wise: quality was exactly what I would expect, great mix of sweet and savory. I would say I had the right amount of food, not too much, not too little. Thank you, Maya.read more

After the cruise we did I just felt I have to tell everyone about how good it was! We booked a company outing cruise for 25 people with food and drinks. Prior to the activity we received clear confirmation, notes where the cruise will start and even a call from the offices as a reminder. On arrival we were greeted by the skipper and host which were very kind, the boat was prepared so nicely. Drinks were cold in ice, we had beautiful food platters and champagne. We cruise for 1.5 hours and it was just amazing. The host and skipper were very entertaining, full of knowledge about the town and made sure everything was spot on!read more

The driver whom we’ve paid extra for meeting us at the arrival hall, we almost 20 minutes late. We recommend to take an uber instead- it will take you less time to get to the hotel.read more

Embarrassed that I booked the booze cruise for a corporate outing. The boat was 30 minutes late, the previous party had spilled drinks all over the cushions and the staff did not replace the pillows, there were dozens of cases of canned sodas stacked in the boat with us, and the alcohol was on the floor, not even set up on the table. Instead of taking us on a normal route, we were taken on a route to drop off the cases of sodas to another boat. On top of that, the cruise was supposed to be for 1.5 hours, but the driver only took us for 50 minutes.read more

We booked a boat for 8 people the day before we were supposed to depart. We arrived 15 minute early as instructed. We waited about half an hour with no boat; I called the company and they told us they’d not received our reservation. I contacted this company for a refund and I was told it would take 5 days to fix. So I’m £323 out, and it spoiled our whole afternoon out on our holiday. No sign of a refund yet!!read more

Tom (our guide) was warm and kind, taking us through some of the Dutch gastronomy sites of Albert Cuyp Markt, providing context for the places we went to and the food we tried. His patience was also admirable, since we were joined by a group of 6 obnoxious ladies, not wanting to try any food or listen to any of the explanations. Tom kept it professional and tried to be diplomatic. About the tour: we tried Haring, Kiebling, Lumpia, Dutch fries, bitterballen, an assortment of beers, stroopwafel, chicken satay and Poffertjes. I would take the Lumpia out, the rest is very good. Mind you it’s a lot of food!read more

I would highly recommend the booze cruise via this company! A large group was in town for a bachelorette party and we were able to kick off our evening on the boat. It was easy to plan this outing without being located in the Netherlands or speaking Dutch. Our guides/captains, Stephen and Mark, were excellent! They were communicative prior to our arrival and informative/helpful throughout the evening. They had a large variety of drinks (alcohol and non-alcoholic) available. Additionally, they dropped us off right at our next destination which was really convenient!read more
